flat iron with enamel coating, if the enamel is chipped is it safe to cook with again?

Keep – you got a good deal. I often cast use (I have 3 large pots and can tell you they are better than non-stick) and as long as they are kept clean and oiled they are safe. You can chip pan effect. Make sure to dry out after cleaning. Add a little olive oil and continue the bared cooking!
